About the Homestay Our house is located in the nicest subdivision in Gatineau-Hull. It is a unique architectural house constructed after our own plans. We are just 12 min from the Ottawa center by car, 35 min by direct bus. There is a bus stop 5 min away. We have bikes, some skis and skates for guests and the most incredible nature all around us. Our subdivision is quiet, but well equipped with stores of all kinds. We are a family with 3 adult kids (two older are now out of the house, youngest is a student at Ottawa University). I am profesional book illustrator. We all speak French and English. My husband and I work from home, so we have time for our guests. We love skiing, hiking, art, outdoors, cooking, gardening and of course music. You can hear our son (22 years) beautifully playing piano quite often. We have a beautiful house with a big garden just one street away from the Gatineau Provincial Park and with bike paths leading to the center of the city. We lOVE and do a lot of sports. Cross-country skiing is my favorite. We have access to ski and bike trails starting just across the street. In winter it can be as cold as -30C early in the morning and in summer as hot as +35C in the afternoon! Skating is a must here! Especially on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa (the largest skating rink on earth). Nearest downhill ski center is 15 min away by car. We have hosted many times and love it. If you are our guest, you become part of our family. We are interested in guests who want to create lasting friendships. We have mandatory meal plan (all you can eat 12$/day) as we enjoy very much to eat and talk with our guests. (alcohol is not included). Especially evening meal is a wonderful time to get together while enjoying a good meal. If you are out for more than 24 hours, of course, you do not pay for meal. We offer discount for guests staying longer than 5 months. Rebate starts on the fifth month and is applyed every month for the rest of your stay. We love hosting university students! University of Ottawa is 35-45min by direct bus conection. ! Bathroom is semi-private, shared with one guest (if we have another guest). We are looking forward to meet you…
