Fans of Tolkien will love this townhouse in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold. A five-minute walk will take you to the famous St Edward's Church, where a doorway flanked by yew trees is said to be the inspiration for the author's 'Doors of Durin'. Along with its fantastic location, this home combines contemporary features with 1800s charm. Spend a cosy evening in front of the wood burner or pad out to the walled cottage garden for a few drinks in the sunshine. Just note that there are steep stairs here, which may not suit everyone.
*Your host can provide a cot and high chair. Just note that only one infant is allowed.
*This is an old home set over three floors with steep staircases. All bedrooms are on the upper floors, which may not suit guests with limited mobility.
*The front door opens directly onto the street, so guests with little ones should take care.
*Parking is available on the street outside the home. The nearby car park on Maugersbury Road is also free to use between 3pm and 8am.
*Your host provides an initial basket of logs for the fire between October and April. Further supplies will need to be purchased locally.
*Corporate groups, stag, and hen parties are not allowed.
*The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year (May and October). The town will be very busy before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants will be closed.
