Being on the top floor of an apartment building often, although not always, brings two perks — good views and plenty of daylight. This home in the Campo Marzio neighbourhood of Rome delivers on both fronts, with large windows gazing out over the city's rooftops. We have a lot of good things to say about the interior, from the sumptuous four-poster bed to the sleek black kitchen. There's even a terrace on which to start the day with coffee and breakfast. Location-wise, a first-time visitor to Rome couldn't wish for better. Many of the big-hitters are within walking distance, while there's also a fresh food market around the corner from the building should you want to stock up on authentic ingredients for an Italian feast.
*There's a very slight slope to the floor in some rooms
*As you're right in the heart of Rome, you can expect a lot of tourists on the streets below, although it does quieten down at night
*The apartment building has a lift to take you up to the top floor
