Calling all oenophiles. This Porto apartment is situated in the city's historic wine quarter. You'll be a stone's throw from the underground cellars and local restaurants that characterise this neighbourhood and just a quick metro ride from landmarks like the Clérigos Tower and the Ribeira. The building is over 100 years old – it certainly doesn't lack charm. We adore the hand-painted blue tiles on the exterior, while inside, neoclassical windows flood the living space with sunlight and quaint Juliet balconies offer views towards the centre. It's not the largest pad and the kitchen is pretty compact, but with a desk for remote working and two cosy bedrooms, we think it'll do nicely for a Porto getaway.
*Please respect the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum between 11pm and 7am. We also suggest packing earplugs if you're a light sleeper, as you may be able to hear street noise from time to time. *Parking in Porto can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible. That said, we think the best way to see the city is on foot. *The Juliet balconies don't have any seating, but you can still enjoy the view while standing. We also think the non-tiled part of the exterior could do with a lick of paint.
