This beautiful period home is right in the heart of historic Bath – in fact, Jane Austen lived in the terrace opposite from 1804-1805. You can definitely sense that period grandeur inside, with impressively high ceilings, marble fireplaces and gorgeous sash windows looking straight out onto Green Park. Each room feels light-filled and cosy – curl up on the plush sofa with a good book on rainy days (we recommend anything by Jane Austen to really set the mood), settle down for a light meal at the table and watch the world go by from the window, or nod off after a busy day in the sumptuous bedroom. And there's plenty to do right on your doorstep, with shops, restaurants, markets, museums and the Theatre Royal all within walking distance. Green Park Station around the corner hosts a Saturday morning farmers' market which is well worth a visit, and the must-see Roman Baths are just a quick seven-minute stroll away.
*The bedroom and living area are separated by large wood folding doors, so it's got the feel of an ample studio rather than a one-bedroom apartment – we don’t mind, as they only add to the period charm
*Due to the central location of this home, you can hear a bit of traffic from the road behind the building
*This home is on the first floor and up a flight of stairs, so might not be suitable for those with limited mobility
*A cot and highchair can be provided if you're travelling with little ones – just ask the host when booking
