It's not just the aqua swimming pool, suntrap terraces surrounded by fruit trees and the abundance of characterful rooms that make this villa such an attractive proposition (although they are pretty good reasons to stay here). There's also the majestic mountain setting, endless stretches of golden sand just a 30-minute drive away, and some of Europe's most scenic cycling routes outside your front door. You know you've found a good thing when you don't have to travel to the Unesco World Heritage Site because you're already surrounded by it. Exploring this stunning corner of Mallorca may have to wait a day or two, though. First, there's a pool-side hammock that needs testing, a BBQ to enjoy, and a log burning fire to curl up by when the night winds down. The well-appointed living areas make entertaining inside a breeze, but we doubt you'll be moving from the alfresco kitchen and dining area in summer. Pick some fresh herbs from the garden for a hefty salad, drizzle some local olive oil, and open a bottle of Spanish wine. Now sit back, and wait for that glorious sunset to roll in.
