The smallest of the Balearic Islands, Formentera is known as the quieter sibling to Ibiza and Mallorca, and that laid-back atmosphere is easily appreciated at this whitewashed home.

Stepping inside, you'll find a charmingly rustic interior, complete with ceiling beams, terracotta tiles and a traditional fireplace in the corner for when the sun's gone down. The shelves filled with momentoes and artwork on the walls add a sense of personality, while the tiled bathrooms provide welcome bursts of colour.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the famous Mediterranean climate, whether that's out in the garden complete with a children's playground or in the shade of the verandah, perhaps enjoying a feast cooked up on the barbecue. A little further afield, Migjorn Beach takes all of a quarter of an hour to reach on foot, while the town of Es Calo doesn't take much longer in the opposite direction.
