The vibe of this apartment’s neighbourhood sits somewhere between bourgeois and bohemian – close to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar, and within walking distance of Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur. The surrounding narrow streets are lined with wooden-shuttered sandstone buildings which house bakeries, neighbourhood restaurants and bijou little shops.

The apartment itself is a nod to 19th-century Paris, with gilded mirrors and vintage furniture on display. The marble fireplace, corniced ceilings and French windows looking out onto the street below also add to the old-world feel. There’s plenty of room to gather around the dining table, and a full kitchen is tucked away with every you need for self-catering. But the piece de resistance has to be the huge bedroom with double French windows keeping things bright and a laptop-friendly desk for working remotely if you need.

*The kitchen is separate from the living room but it is quite small
*This apartment is on the third floor but there is a lift in the building

*Parking in central Paris can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot
