Sitting in a central spot to the south of the Seine, we're sure that you'll be just as smitten with this bright apartment as we are. There's a simply huge amount of natural light from the windows and doors that line the living space and this shines rather nicely off the stark white walls, wooden floor and sleek kitchen surfaces.

While it may not have the Haussmanian period charm of other homes in the French capital, the furnishings and finishes are all contemporary – even a little minimalist so in places – and there are no parts that we can identify as needing some urgent love and attention. There's plenty of room to kick back and relax after some serious sightseeing, while the smartly designed kitchen is plenty big enough should you decide you need a night off the city's famous restaurants.

Whenever you choose to leave the home, you'll be immediately greeted by the building's plant-filled courtyard, which is a pleasing pocket of green in the heart of the metropolis. Beyond that, it's easy to stroll over to some well-known attractions, including the Luxembourg Gardens and Les Invalides.
*The home is on the ground floor, but both of the bedrooms are on the first level reached only by stairs – there's a sofa bed on the ground floor, though
*The host doesn't accept bookings from groups of young people aged under eighteen
*There's no private parking but Duroc metro station lies at the end of the street
*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
