Het Huis van de vreugde is in het dorp van Giang Ta Chai, Ta Van commune, 10km vanaf centrum Sapa, op het idee van het traditionele Huis dat H'mong wordt gebaseerd. Het Huis van de vreugde is een combinatie van traditioneel huis en homestay, die tot een milieuvriendelijke structuur leidt waar door aard met berg, waterval, rivier, bamboebos en rijstterrassen wordt omringd. Bied me de kans de mooie verhalen van de mensen rond hier te luisteren, ervaar de lokale cultuur, speel met de kinderen, geef een rust onder de aard, vind een vreugde en ben van mening dat wij zijn teruggekomen. De waterval, rivier en bamboe bos enkel 5 minuten lopen die waar u zwemmen, kunt mediteren of, gelezen yoga, onder aard ontspannen. Wij hebben een grote tuin met theebomen die 80 jaar oud en heel wat groenten en kruiden zijn. Oogst de groenten voor diners en maak samen verse groene thee. U kunt trekking van onze plaats met een lokale reis doen guider, die het perfecte Engels spreekt. De trekking zal door verschillende mooie plaatsen gaan (dorpen, bamboebos, waterval, rijstterrassen,…) welk slechts gekend door locals. U kunt zich ook bij een workshop van de indigobatik met leraar aansluiten H'Mong, zullen alle producten door uw handen met indigoproces worden gemaakt. Na de workshop, kunt u uw producten als geheugen van Sapa houden. De de batikstof van de indigo is de meest unieke stof van de mensen ? Mong van Hâ ?. De batik is verzet zich kleurstof tegen techniek die door was getrokken motieven wordt gecreeerd. Traditioneel, gebruiken de mensen ? Mong van Hâ ? hennep als basisstof. Het batikontwerp wordt gebruikt voor kleding en huishoudenpunten. Onthaal naar huis achter, in elke stap, in elke adem.

Very good location in a tribal village with amazing view on the ricefield and waterfall! You can do easy and fabulous trekking by yourself and meet ethnies. The room was confortable and the dinner incredible BBQ! BUT it's not a real homestay (like we did in other countries), we unfortunatly shared nothing with the family about life and activities (they don't live at this place all times but in town) It's more like a hotel with a very nice location

Just came back from a 4 night stay with this wonderful welcoming family . Scott and Szu spoke perfect English and we couldn't have asked for better hosts . The homestay itself is 10kms east of Sapa town , with a view of the mountains . It was just lovely waking up everyday to such a view and breathing in fresh cool air .The house itself was very clean and it was just wonderful to have home cooked dinners with the family . It gives you a great insight into real village life and be a part of the family . Scott and Szu were very accommodating and were happy to organise anything we needed , from trekkers to taxis . The only thing is that the homestay itself is not on the road, so you will have to walk down the path for around 10 minutes ..and the walk itself is amazing with views of the mountains and rice fields . It wasn't an issue for us , and they have motorbikes if you need a lift up back to the road . It's all part of the experience which we cherish forever . This was definitely so far the highlight of our Vietnam trip ( we have been here for 3 weeks now ) There were 3 separate homes in the homestay, where Scott has one home with 4 rooms , Szu and husband have their home with the kids and 3 guest rooms and between those 2 homes , is the house with around 10 rooms in it so there is plenty of rooms and space , with clean bathrooms . Wifi is very strong and this is a superb spot to trek from or just daydream at the mountains . They also had available to buy cold beers and softdrinks onsite . Excellent place for flying the drone too !!

House is in a beautiful village facing the mountains and waterfall. Our 5 day stay there was relaxing and peaceful - going for treks around the village at our own pace (which we appreciated a lot with 2 young kids), chilling out in front of the house when the weather was rainy/foggy and having meals in the comfort of the house or facing the mountains (depending on the weather). Scott’s house is the closest you can get to an authentic homestay, yet with minimum standards of cleanliness which I appreciate with kids. Of course, the shower cannot be compared to that of a hotel just because the traditional house is not as enclosed so it’s freezing to bathe when the weather is bad, but it’s all part of the experience! Highly recommended!

We really loved staying at Scott’s place. He was a great host providing any arrangements for us, making us great meals, and taking care of our needs. We enjoyed our many wonderful conversations with him. The location of his homestay was beautiful and perfect for exploring and trekking. It was a relaxing and casual experience! We would definitely stay at Joyhiuse again.
