Ik word gevestigd 10 minuten van Valparaiso van de binnenstad.

4 month I spent in Valparaiso for studying in Vina del Mar at the Campus Diego Partales. During my whole semester I have lived in a host family. For me it has been a great experience and I do not regret one minute which I have been there. When I came to Chile in February 2016, my objectives were getting some impressions of another culture and of course I wanted to learn Spanish. Now I can say both objectives are getting realized. Every day I had the chance to speak Spanish with Silvia and every day I was in touch with chilean music and other cultural aspects. So Silvia and I exchanged a lot information and learned from each other. While she taught me Spanish, I tried to help a little bit to improve her english and taught her some few german words. Sometimes we also spent time with her friends or her family. Silvia is a very friendly person and she gives support whenever you have questions. The flat is always cleaned and so there are best conditions for living and studying. The only disadvantage may be the distance between the home (Valparaiso) and the university (Vina del Mar). But by the way the public transport with micros, collectivos, metro or buses work really uncomplicated so that the distance may be not a big problem. Also at night you ever find a collectivo for low costs. Valparaiso is a great place to live and it is one of the most interesting and diversity cities in Chile. It is a traditional place with also modern parts and you can empathize the whole Chilean history on this place. If you like to spend some time with friends, you can find a lot of bars and dance-clubs. On the other hand you have for example the "theater municipal", where you always find cultural programs. So if you like, there are a lot of things you are able to learn!
